Development Coordinator, Full-Time

Next Door Solution is looking for an experienced professional who can work with a multicultural team and manage and implement the communications plan, conduct outreach to corporations, organizations, and associations, cultivate, solicit and steward donors, assist with organizing fundraising events, coordinate volunteers and contribute to other fundraising strategies.

Strong communication skills are required to ensure consistency of Next Door Solutions’ (NDS) brand while communicating to a range of audiences, including the general public and donors. Spanish-speaking and writing skills are a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in helping in the development of fundraising goals and works to meet these goals.
  • Identifies, cultivates, and solicits new donors; takes initiative with outreach to corporations, churches, and associations
  • Work with the Development team to conceptualize, write, edit and distribute the annual report, web content, blog posts, e-newsletters, direct mail appeals and marketing, and promotional materials.
  • Cultivate and steward donors of $500 – $1000 including thank-you calls for donations
  • Responsible for fundraising efforts such as procuring items for silent and live auctions and soliciting in-kind donations for clients.
  • Works with the team to advertise and market fundraising events through the use of printed materials, such as invitations, online, and social media.
  • Manage and regularly update the communications plan to support Next Door Solutions’ work.
  • Work with team on segmenting donors and implementing communication strategies for new, recurring and existing donors and prospective Legacy Society members which include five to seven touches between asks.
  • Meet with and provide tours for individuals, corporations, and community organizations on a regular basis to increase visibility and enhance the connection to Next Door Solutions.
  • Work with Development and Prevention teams on maximizing Next Door Solutions’ presence utilizing social media and establishing youth-focused platforms such as Tik Tok, Snap Chat, and YouTube.
  • Create video content and production for events, social media, and a virtual tour
  • Coordinate fundraising events and activities from start to finish working with the Development Team in implementing timelines and organizing tasks
  • Effectively communicate Next Door Solutions’ mission and translate complicated subjects to make them understandable to a broad audience.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Available to work on occasional evenings and weekends


  • At least two years of experience in fundraising, development, and communications, including experience managing events.
  • Two to four years of fund development work with a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience working with multicultural communities, particularly LatinX and LGBTQIAP a plus.
  • Presentation skills required.
  • Proficient in databases, web development, social media, and electronic communications;
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Passion for organization’s mission
  • Ability to both work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and follow-through
  • Capacity to simultaneously work on multiple tasks and projects, and set priorities for a challenging workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform across the fundraising spectrum, including prospect identification, and donor stewardship.
