Kids Club Facilitator, Part-time
Summary of Job Duties:
As a Kids Club Facilitator, you have an opportunity to be a role model for children and to help to create a safe, fun environment for children to grow. You will work as a team member, supervising and interacting with children in a drop-in setting, as well as creating an environment that is safe and activity enriching. The Kids Club Facilitator will also perform other duties and responsibilities assigned at will as seen fit by the Manager.
The Kids Club Facilitator provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children ages 3 to 17 that participate in Kids Club at the Community Office. Major issues to develop are Safety, Conflict Resolution, Self-esteem and Expression of Feelings.
Works with the Support Group Facilitator to implement age appropriate developmental curriculum using many mediums of curriculum.
Take an active role with the volunteers that support kid's club, informing them about the evening activities and expectations.
Recruit, plan and coordinated dynamic new volunteers for Kids Club
Maintain the daily sign in and out sheet and ensure it is filled out completely
Leave rooms in a clean and organized fashion at the end of the night
Participate in monthly all staff meetings and weekly supervision meetings with the Support Group Facilitator.
Follow up with the children and their parents about special projects, events and other activities that are arranged for our clients outside of Kid's Club
Communicate immediately with the Support Group Facilitator about specific cases that need to have an external intervention (such as CPS, emergency, injury, etc.)
Model appropriate and constructive conflict resolution skills
Maintain a predetermined work schedule covering direct shift hours while the program is open
Maintain a clean, fun and engaging environment inside the program while on duty
Enforce safety and risk management standards
Keep an empowered sense of ownership to maintain quality and good condition of items and equipment in the program
Exercise a flexibly responsible mentality when working within the program as not all situations will fit training scenarios
Keep track of children at all times
Keep open communication with parents and families as often as possible to give updates on the children
Be actively engaged with the children in the program
Uphold and enforce all organization policies and procedures
Upon Hire Facilitator will complete CA Domestic Violence 40 hour training and gain certification
Minimum of one year progressive experience in an organized child care setting.
Minimum age of 18.Minimum of High School Diploma. BA or equivalent experience in early childhood education, counseling, social work, child development, or related fieldpreferred.
