Patricia Bashaw has over 30 years of executive level experience in successful public and private corporations, from start-up to maturity, focusing on Human Resources, including Genentech and Nellcor. She has served on the Board of Directors for several agencies including Djerassi Resident Artists Program, the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation, and Women and Their Children’s Housing (WATCH). She was a member of Million Dollar Women, raising funds for transitional housing for victims of domestic violence in Santa Clara County. Pat has served on the Board of Next Door Solutions since 2003.

Dennis Coonan has been managing the finance, accounting, tax, human resources, and administration departments of Bay Area companies for more than twenty years.  Since 2005, he has been the Chief Financial Officer for Nova Partners, a commercial construction project management and real estate development firm in Mountain View.  Dennis holds a B.S. in business from Santa Clara University and earned his Certified Public Accounting license in 1997. Dennis has served on the Board of Next Door Solutions since 2018.

Harmony Downs has over 20 years of working experience in the fields of Human Resources and Education. Currently, Harmony is an HR Business Partner with specialized expertise in talent development and diversity and inclusion for Applied Materials. Between attaining her MBA from USC and graduating from UC San Diego with a BA in Chinese Studies she taught English at Shandong University in China for five years.  Harmony enjoys hiking and running with her rescue dogs, practicing yoga and meditation to bring peace into her everyday life. Harmony has served on the Board of Next Door Solutions since 2018.

Melissa Hollatz is a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she focuses on all aspects of public and private company representation, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements, and corporate governance, with an emphasis on technology companies. Representative public company clients include Polycom, Inc., Advent Software, Inc., and Intevac, Inc. Melissa has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions involving both domestic and international deals by public and non-public companies. Melissa received both her B.A. and J.D. from Stanford University. Melissa has served on the Board of Next Door Solutions since 2006.

John Latham lives in San Mateo and works as a CPA in Belmont. John has lived in the Bay Area for 30 years and worked for Seiler LLP for 27 years, before starting his own firm of Latham, Nadboralski, & Lin in 2012. John feels that a significant and growing part of our service economy is going to be from the non-government not for profit sector. John is fluent in French and has served on the Board of Next Door Solutions since 2009.

Erika Muhl Schwarz is of counsel at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she focuses on all aspects of public and private company representation, including corporate governance, public offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions. Erika received her B.A. from Georgetown University and J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of the Law. Erika has served on the Board of Next Door Solutions since 2016.

Herminia Ojeda is a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial. She helps individuals achieve their financial goals and prepare for whatever life brings — both the expected and the unexpected — with personalized and tailored advice. She also helps small to mid-size companies establish and manage retirement savings plans. She is a strong believer that we can do well for ourselves by doing good in our community. This is why she is a strong advocate for social responsible investing and she serves on several nonprofit board of directors in her community. When she’s not busy at work or in her community, she spends time gardening, feeding her husband, three cats and two dogs. Herminia joined the Board of Next Door Solutions in 2016.

Michelle Pezzani, M.D. is a board-certified doctor of internal medicine and a specialist in hospital medicine who provides personal acute care to inpatients at El Camino Hospital. Dr. Pezzani has been practicing medicine for over twenty years and her work as a hospitalist involves managing teams of clinicians to improve patient care. Dr. Pezzani is a sports car enthusiast and is very interested in health, fitness, and nutrition. Dr. Pezzani is a proud mother of twins, both of whom are currently enrolled at the Colorado University of Boulder. Dr. Pezzani joined the Board of Next Door Solutions in early 2019 and is also a member of the Advisory Board of Connected Home Living.

Cris Paden has worked in communications and public relations since 2001. Cris is currently the Director of Corporate Communications at Twilio, Inc. Cris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Oklahoma. Cris worked as Next Door Solutions Media Relations and Social Media Communications volunteer prior to joining the Board in 2018.

Shannon Power has worked in finance and strategy since 1997. Shannon currently works as the Senior Director of Global Business Operations & Shared Services at Veritas Technologies, LLC. Shannon holds an MBA from the WP Carey School of Business and a Masters in Project Management from George Washington University. Shannon served on the Finance Committee Board of Family & Children Services of Silicon Valley from 2015 to 2017 and currently volunteers as a Willpower Ring Leader with Leading Women in Technology. Shannon joined the Board of Next Door Solutions in 2018.

Michelle Puma has been a Certified Public Account since 1999. Michelle’s areas of concentration include assurance services, tax compliance, business entity selection, outsourcing services, and budget forecasting. She prides herself on being a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the California State Board of Accountancy. Michelle received her B.S. in Accounting from San Jose State University and has served on the Board of Next Door Solutions since January of 2010.

Lisa Villarreal specializes in navigating investors through the 1031 Exchange process. With over 20 years of real estate and business development experience, Lisa holds her Real Estate License in California, has earned a degree in Health Service Administration from Saint Mary’s College. Additionally, she has volunteered internationally in Africa, South America, Europe and India to serve as an advocate against human trafficking and domestic violence against, women, children and served time domestically as a Committee Member of League of Women Voters for Juvenile Justice, serving locally, and across the Nation with the intention of changing lives by empowering people with knowledge of their rights. Lisa has served on the Board of Next Door Solutions since 2011.

Hillary WeingastHillary began her career serving as the Labor and Employment Counsel for the Internal Revenue Services before transition to corporate counsel work in 2003. Hillary currently works as the Head of Global Employment Law for Juniper Networks. Hillary has served on the Board of Next Door Solutions since 2015 before been voted in as the Chair in 2018.
