Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence proudly announces the appointment of Cynthia Hunter as Director of Programs and Policy
“Cindi” is a recognized and accomplished anti-gender-based violence leader and activist in the Bay Area with an extensive background in public policy and advocacy and a proven ability to lead key initiatives that result in strategic community-driven outcomes and action. She contributed to and secured multiple policy victories including a record increase in local funding for intimate partner violence prevention, improved language access and law enforcement response to victims, and implemented evidence-based lethality and homicide reduction strategies.
Having worked in the private, public, and non-governmental sectors, Cindi has demonstrated the ability to build strategic collaborations and alliances with a broad base of supporters, including nontraditional partners. Her background in research and analysis of complex issues, consensus building on solutions and policy outcomes defined by the individuals and communities impacted, and implementation of those solutions, demonstrates her leadership and commitment to preventing gender-based violence.
“As we enter our 50th year in operation as the largest and oldest domestic violence service provider in Santa Clara County, we are thrilled to have Cindi on Board at Next Door Solutions. Her deep knowledge of systems, track record of success, and unwavering dedication to justice and community, and client-centered advocacy will make her a huge asset to our agency. We look forward to having her vision and leadership as we continue our efforts to end domestic violence and related forms of violence in the moment and for all time” stated Esther Peralez-Dieckmann, Executive Director.
