Statement on the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol
and
A Renewed Call for Peace and Justice for our Nation.
We, the Board of Directors and Staff of Next Door Solutions, condemn the criminal acts and violence that took place in the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. We denounce these acts of domestic terrorism and urge our national security and law enforcement agencies to fully investigate and bring to justice all those who were complicit in this atrocity.
We grieve the loss of life that took place and the violation of our safety, the desecration of our national monuments and the resulting trauma and fear felt in communities across the nation. We are further saddened about the message this sends to our children about how we respond to those who do not agree with us.
As we enter a new era under a new Administration, national unity is our rallying cry. We stand with communities of color and renew our call for racial equity, justice and equal opportunity for all. We encourage each individual to take action and engage in civic life, the voting process, and demand accountability and justice at all levels. Only in doing so can we begin to heal our country and move forward as one nation.
As we have done for the past fifty years, Next Door Solutions continues to actively work for justice in order to achieve peace. We carry forward our dreams, our values, and our vision of an end to violence in unity with individuals, families, communities and the entire globe and a renewed hope for a brighter future for all of us!
