Winter Open House 2019

The winter holiday season can be especially difficult for survivors and their children already dealing with trauma, displacement, family estrangement, loss of friendships, and financial challenges. To make the holidays a little brighter, Next Door Solutions hosted more than 600 guests, clients and their families, at our Annual Winter Open House.

The Winter Open House event helps to create an opportunity for community volunteers and donors to help increase and enrich peer and family bonding opportunities for those impacted by abuse; and to provide an environment where survivors and their children can experience the caring of the community.

NDS looks to create one day in a year in which the people we serve can enjoy a fun, safe, pro-social activity, shared with peers and family in an environment where they are welcomed and respected – a time to create a memory built on a positive experience.  That is the aim of Winter Open House.

Our 2019 event was made possible by donations from individuals and other community partners through donations of books, stuffed toy animals, and gift cards for our families, and sponsorships for food for our guests, and carnival games and jump house for the kids.  And most importantly – through the many, many volunteers needed for set up, tear down, to staffing activity tables, and assist with other event festivities.  Thank you to our donors, friends, and partners in making this event a special time for our families!

Happy Holidays to one and all!

Thank you!
